Mandan Kiwanis Club Community Outreach
The Mandan Kiwanis club has extensive outreach in our beloved community which has lasted since 1952. We support a wide array of educational, recreational, and community assistance programs, focusing on our primary mission: serving the children of the world.
MHS Graduating Scholarships
Mandan Kiwanis proudly offers three $1,500 scholarships annually to graduating seniors of Mandan High School to support their higher education journey.
West River Head Start Book Distribution
Extends to about 125 West River Head Start students in Carson, Hazen, New Salem, and Mandan. Students get to choose four free books each year to promote reading at home.
Mandan Head Start Reading
Our dedicated club volunteers visit and read engaging stories directly to Mandan Head Start students four times throughout the school year.
Head Start Beautification Project
Club volunteers gather prior to the start of the school year to mow, trim, paint, and clean up the grounds at the Mandan Head Start facility.
Mandan Baseball Program
A sponsor of youth baseball from our club's inception over 60 years ago. We solicit sponsor funds to help support the program for about 650 youth managed by the Park Board.
Mandan Soccer Club
We sponsor and support over 700 local youth involved in the spring and fall club soccer programs organized by the Mandan Soccer Club.
Field of Dreams (Kiwanis Park)
We provide continual maintenance and financial support for the youth baseball park and facilities at Kiwanis Park, Field of Dreams.
Kiwanis Girls Track & Field Event
The Mandan Kiwanis Club sponsors and coordinates volunteers for the Mandan Kiwanis Girls Track and Field Event, held on the second Saturday of May each year.
MHS Ultimate Party
We sponsor the Mandan High School Ultimate Party to provide a safe, drug-and-alcohol-free environment for graduating high school students to celebrate.
Summer Lunch with Heroes
An exciting program at Mandan Library every summer. Students and parents are provided a lunch served by Kiwanis volunteers and watch programs by local heroes.
Universal Playground
We sponsor construction and ongoing maintenance of the Universal Playground, allowing children of all abilities to play together in an inclusive environment.
Annual Member Picnic
Every August, we host a social club picnic for members, prospective members, friends, and family to connect and celebrate our work.
Classic Cross-Country Meet
Sponsors and volunteers coordinate the Mandan Kiwanis Classic Cross-Country Meet every September for local student athletes.
Golf Tournament Fundraiser
Held annually in August at Prairie West Golf Course. Up to 32 foursomes participate in this major fundraiser that funds our community programs.
Police Explorer Post #2683
We provide financial support for youth to work alongside and learn career skills from local police personnel through the Mandan Police Explorer program.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing
When the holiday season arrives, our volunteers ring the bells for the Salvation Army at Dan's Super Valu for nearly 5 weeks to raise critical funds.
Annual Kiwanis Breakfast
The first Saturday of December. One of our club's signature public fundraising projects. A fantastic breakfast event for the entire community.
Mayor's Prayer Breakfast
We coordinate, host, and sponsor the spiritual Mandan Mayor's Prayer Breakfast for the community, bringing together local leaders and citizens annually.
Special Olympics Lunch
On the first Sunday of May, we provide and serve lunch for athletes, coaches, and volunteers at the Special Olympic District Competition Event.
Christmas & Awards Event
An annual holiday celebration where we present club awards and honor a community member who goes above and beyond to support local youth.
Aid Inc. Care & Share
We donate, volunteer, organize food and gifts, and help sort donations at the collection site to help distribute holiday cheer to Mandan families.
